With safety and travel issues facing us today, the training accommodates people no matter where they live. There are both Online and In-person Components

Online learning
Most content is presented online, with all sessions recorded and available for review in the student learning portal. Zoom has proven to be an excellent tool for teacher training. It works.

Practicum
Upon commencement of the training, in-person gatherings will be arranged for those who are local. The same will be made available (indefinitely) for those participating remotely through any live event, retreat, workshop, or regularly scheduled classes in Boulder.

Live topics include pattern recognition and the proper use of hands and touch as a teacher. All trainees will be encouraged to observe several live classes taught by Jeff and other certified Avita teachers.

Most of the learning is experiential. We talk about a shape, a problem, a blockage, a restriction, a class plan, and then we feel it in our bodies and practice seeing it in others. The online format works better than you might imagine for this. Topics are covered and often enhanced with graphics or a whiteboard, which also works very well with Zoom as a screen share.

Yes, All presentations and discussions will be recorded and posted to your learning portal for later review.

With written notice, you may miss up to three days and still pass the training. Tardiness is another story. Life happens but showing up on time for yourself and others is essential. Exceptions can be made with written notice, but you are expected to show up on time for all scheduled classes. All presentations and discussions will be recorded and posted within a week for later viewing from the learning portal.

You will begin practice teaching in small increments starting the second session. If you have no desire to teach, you are not required to practice teaching. You may remain a student, which is fine, but there’s a benefit to learning to use your voice in this new and unique way. Even those who have no intentions of teaching are often inspired to practice teaching and, to their surprise, find that they grow and learn from doing so. As a graduate, you will have developed the skill to lead a private session and a small group of students through a one-hour practice.
